@GoogleForEdu Like many others I see commenting, I can't see any of the counts on the "to review" page today (or yesterday). I also get an error message when I try to mark something as reviewed. And for some assignments, the student work never even loads when I go to it directly.
@NicholasFerroni 39 in Math 7/8. And none of my other 4 classes were under 33 that year (mostly Math 7)- some were 36. Much better this year though- max is currently 30. 😀
@martinsean Our district (near LA) is planning to send a lot of teachers. COVID numbers in our district are very low. I’m hopeful that it will happen! 🤞
I presented about communicating with families at the New Educator Academy today. If you want to see my presentation, here’s a link 😊 https://t.co/sd6uinjot2
Starting the school year with new educators and some of our tenured educators is a great way to begin a new year! Such great advice guidance, and techniques shared this afternoon by @ArcadiaUnified staff. 🥰 #opportunity
When it comes to the daunting question of reopening schools, America’s educators deserve a plan, not a trap. Dave Grohl writes about the country’s responsibility to people like his mother, a former public-school teacher: https://t.co/f9oXbLXBvQ
You either believe that black families are four times more dysfunctional than white families, that black students are twice as unmotivated in school as white students, that they are three times more criminal than white students, or you believe there’s a systemic problem.
@AliciaAceves11 Thanks! I did the rating and they were willing to do that but they weren’t willing to say why. I can try opening it early for chat. Thanks for the ideas!
My students are sooo shy on Zoom. Like, the kids who are never quiet in class aren’t even talking. And I’m not asking about math- just how are you? Any tips on getting kids to open speak in this new, awkward format?
@lantonha Maybe. I was just asking what they’ve been doing with their time lately though. But I like the pet idea! One kid did ask to see my one year-old...kind of like bringing a pet 😂 I may also try smaller groups- a class instead of a course.
