Recess, physical activity, and playtime do more for SEL than any packaged program. In fact, leaving these out of the educational process is borderline child abuse. Children NEED to move, socialize, and play to learn most effectively.

When I see a scholar off-task, instead of asking, “What are you doing?” or “Why aren’t you working?” I’ll ask, “You good/you doing okay?”
