I like working with kids because they are not a respecter of persons. They like you for who you are to them, not for who you are or what you mean to everyone else.
A lot of new things get thrown at educators, but we often don't give the new things a chance because we view it as 'one more thing on our plate.'
Sometimes, the new thing can help us be more successful at doing what is already on our plate. Be open to innovation. #teachergoals
@LaurenWeller5@PrinceEa I love that he gave credit to the things we actually do need (reading, writing, arithmetic), but also pointed out that there is so much more important things to learn besides things like the names of every battle in the civil war! #EEC301S19
@MsBrewerTeach@PrinceEa This is so true! Like he said, I can’t remember half of the things that I was taught in school, and the things I do remember are useless to me in everyday life. #EEC301S19
@HutchinsTeach@PrinceEa This whole video had me saying “YES!!!” As future teachers we can help create a place where we encourage students and give them the opportunities that they deserve without all the pressure of grades. #EEC301S19
What is school for? @PrinceEa Everything in this video is something that I & many others have wondered for so long. Too much emphasis is placed on academic success, and all other areas of success are forgotten or pushed aside for students to figure out on their own. #EEC301S19
Your students will disappoint you. They might lie on you, cheat, steal from you, not perform their best, etc. Still, we must remain firm in our commitment to serving them — Growth. Takes. Time.
@MsSheltonTeach I really love how you want to involve the parents in what their kids are learning and doing at school. I think it is often hard for parents to fully grasp it from their children’s explanation of what they did at school. #EEC301S19
@teachtipton I agree with this! As teachers we are constantly trying new things and learning from others and ourselves. Twitter is a great way to share. #EEC301S19
@TeachDixon Adapting your teaching is so important! People learn in different ways, so we should teach in different ways to make sure that everyone is getting it. #EEC301S19
@MsAyresCares There is an endless amount of ways that we can use social media to update and inform communities! It is such an easy and useful tool! #EEC301S19
