This is a horrific story.

18-year-old Markavious “Mark” Rumph was reported missing after he was last seen at a petrol station in Eufaula, Alabama, a town with an estimated population of around 12,000.

His family said there was a severe lack of urgency from police, and his mother said officers declined to help with the search.

For five days, his parents and members of the community searched for him themselves before eventually finding his dismembered remains.
He had reportedly been shot, burned, and chopped up.
