New coils are almost done. this is the third set I made. Hopefully the last.
it only needs a 2mm thick layer of kapton tape which will act as the dielectric as these coils also act as capacitor plates. then back to testing. constructive feedback is the goal. secondary=primary

crossroads.
the coil I build does not perform as it should.
the parallel resonant current coil won't be tuned correctly, it only shows the third higher harmonic. I have no clue why.

So... In my mind I design a new coil. should I build it?
Or start something new fresh different?

The art of coil winding.
I love how these intersections look.
It is nearly complete. 7x33m=231 meters of polypropylene tape to isolate the windings. 6 days of winding.

After 4.5 days of winding, I finished the FIRST layer...
Around 175 meter of polypropylene tape was used.
inductance now is around 10mH. which is not enough, so I will add another layer on top.
This will get the series resonant frequency below 70kc/s where the PVC behaves better

3 days of work to get this coil half done. already more than 70m of polypropylene tape used to provide isolation.
It is intended to have more inductance and higher series resonant voltages with large displacement currents.
this #coilcapacitor will be tested soon. 0.28mm diameter

If a high voltage series resonant coil capacitor is used in combination with a coupled parallel resonant high current system, then no impulses are needed.

For years I was convinced impulses are the only way to go, but hey, what did I know?
now I know. No impulses needed!
