Unions tried to meet in April 2019 and government wouldn’t. 2% isn’t a raise, it is so your wages keep up with inflation. Otherwise it’s a cut. Educators have had their wages frozen under the Liberal government and wages have not kept up with inflation since 2012. #factsmatter

CUPE announced today that it intends to escalate job action from work-to-rule to a strike, effective Monday, October 7, should a deal not be reached. DDSB is confirming details and contingency plans are being considered. Information will be shared with families once available.
