Kanya King - who founded the Mobo Awards which celebrate Black British music - has died at the age of 57.

Her family said it followed a "courageous and characteristically determined battle" with colon cancer.

In a statement - they said the creation of the Mobo awards was an "act of cultural justice" which had demonstrated the power of Black music to a world which had too often chosen not to see it.

Watermelon Pictures will release the documentary, ‘Shoot The People’ which features photographer, filmmaker and activist @misanharriman Harriman, in UK cinemas this summer. 

The film will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from July 10.

On 29 May 1927, Charles Lindbergh, the American Aviator, made an historic landing at Croydon Airport in his "Spirit of St. Louis" after completing the first solo transatlantic flight. An enormous crowd of approximately 120,000 people came to witness this aviation milestone.
