Suomalaisessa journalismissa on ilmiö, jolle ei ole ollut nimeä. Ehdotan nimeä oikaisualibi.

Okaisualibi toimii niin, että (yleensä) iso perinnemedia Y julkaisee näyttävästi väitteen, joka on totuudenvastainen tai kääntää medialle ikävien haastateltavien kommenttien merkitykset päälaelleen.

Toimittaja ja jutun tuottaja tietävät väitteen valheelliseksi tai kontekstista irroitetuksi, mutta päästävät sen valtavirtaan. Valtakunnan median otsikoihin, someen, muihin toimituksiin ja tiedotteisiin.

Kun virhe viraalin leviämisen jälkeen korjataan, toimitus voi vedota ”teknisesti ottaen” täyttäneensä Suomen lain ”sananvapauden käyttämisestä joukkoviestinnässä” pykälän 9 oikaisuvelvoitteestaan.

Mutta yleisö, joka näki alkuperäisen väitteen, ei palaa lukemaan jutun oikaisua.

Pari esimerkkiä:

Halla-ahon kohdalla tämä nähtiin kahdesti samasta väitteestä. Iltalehti kirjoitti vuonna 2012 Anders Breivikin nimenneen Halla-ahon ”oppi-isäkseen”. Väite oli väärä, ja JSN antoi Iltalehdelle asiasta langettavan päätöksen. Halla-ahon nimi esiintyi Breivikin manifestiin kopioidussa Fjordmanin kirjoituksessa, jossa Fjordman puolestaan siteerasi Halla-ahoa.

JSN totesi poikkeuksellisen suoraan, ettei edes vastine olisi riittänyt poistamaan väitteen aiheuttamaa vahinkoa.

Seitsemän vuotta myöhemmin sama mielikuva eli ja voi hyvin. Ylen Jälkiviisaissa Halla-ahoa kutsuttiin Breivikin ”esikuvaksi”. Yle korjasi. Samana vuonna myös Kansan Uutiset joutui oikaisemaan oman versionsa samasta asiasta.

Oikaisu on tässä tapauksessa jäänyt kärpäsenpaskaksi jonnekin valtamedian verkkoarkistoon, mutta sillä ei ole ollut merkittävää vaikutusta kansalaisten kollektiiviseen muistiin.

Päivi Räsäsen kohdalla Helsingin Sanomat kirjoitti marraskuussa 2019, että Räsänen siteeraa Paavalia, jonka mukaan homoseksuaalit ”pitäisi tappaa”. HS korjasi verkkoversiota, koska Paavali ei esittänyt tappamiskehotusta vaan puhui kuoleman ansaitsemisesta. Alkuperäinen versio oli siinä vaiheessa jo painettu paperille ja jaettu koteihin. Räsäsen vastinetta ei koskaan julkaistu.

Purran kohdalla homma menee jo Kummeliksi. Purra sanoi elokuussa 2025 kohtalokkaat sanat ”väestön vaihtuminen”. Yle muutti sanat väestönvaihdoksi, eli termiksi, jonka Yle on itse liittänyt muissa jutuissaan salaliittoteoriaan ja äärioikeistolaiseen väkivaltaan. Yle korjasi ilmaisun. Sitten Yle korjasi sen toistamiseen toisesta jutusta. Silti Ylen otsikko kuuluu edelleen ”Näin Riikka Purra selittää puheitaan väestönvaihdosta”, vaikka saman jutun leipäteksti kertoo hänen puhuneen väestön vaihtumisesta.

Toukokuussa 2026 STT väänsi Purran sanomisia kahdesta kohtaa. ”Tällä hallituskaudella ei enää leikata sosiaaliturvasta”, muuttui väitteeksi, ettei PS tekisi vastaavia säästöjä tulevallakaan kaudella. Ja saman jutun sisällä Purran ”väestönmuutos” muuttui taas kerran ”väestönvaihdoksi”. Juttu ehti syndikoitua muihin medioihin ennen korjausta. Suomenmaan julkaisemassa versiossa molemmat virheet oikaistiin vasta seuraavana päivänä.

Teemu Keskisarjan keississä Helsingin Sanomat teki elokuussa 2026 okaisualibipelin shakkimattia edeltävän peliliikkeen eli jätti lauseesta pois täsmälleen sen osan, joka määritti koko lauseen.

Keskisarja kirjoitti kirjassaan ”Elämäni eduskunnassa”, ettei osaa totella itseään nuorempia ja naisempia pomoja, eikä vanhoja miehiäkään. Julkisuuteen lähti tietenkin versio: ”En osaa totella itseäni nuorempia ja naisempia pomoja.”

Keskustan varapuheenjohtaja Hilkka Kemppi ehti jo julkaista tiedotteen, jossa lausunto määriteltiin ”yksiselitteiseksi naisvihaksi”. Väärä kehys oli siis ehtinyt synnyttää kohun ennen kuin korjaus ehti perään.

Tässä on oikaisualibin yhteiskunnallinen ongelma ja vasemmistoinfluensseritoimittajien laillisesti harmaa pelikenttä.

Kymmenettuhannet näkevät myöhemmin, ettei A pitänyt paikkaansa.

Media voi viiksiään hieroskellen sanoa korjanneensa virheensä. Julkinen mielikuva ehtii kuitenkin muodostua jo ensiotsikoista.

She says this the norm in America. Teachers can’t stop students when they act this way, even young students

right now there's a video going viral about a, like a kindergarten student basically destroying their classroom, and a lot of people are commenting, you know, "Why did no one stop him? Why didn't the teacher stop him from destroying the classroom?" The thing is, we can't, right? Most general education teachers don't have the certification and the training to restrain children, and it's a huge liability — typical protocol if a child is destroying the classroom is for the teacher and the other students to evacuate, so that's exactly what we did”

Kids used to fear their teachers and their parents for acting out. Now apparently you just have to watch it happen with literally no consequences

There needs to be accountability of both the kids and the parents

Globally, cold-related deaths outnumber heat-related ones by about 9 to 1 (roughly 4.6 million vs 0.5 million per year).

A woman on Derby Road in Hightown, Wrexham, says the landlord of the house opposite has threatened her after she complained about the tenants.
Several Middle Eastern men live there. The landlord told her they are “trainee doctors”. Neighbours say they are often outside at all hours drinking, smoking and making enough noise to disturb the street.
When she phoned him to deal with it, he abused her and said: “I have told those guys, the dingy guys to come and see you when they have time, the way they do everywhere. Don’t fucking phone me, motherfucker.” He made clear he was sending “the dingy guys” round.
Police have been called. They say they will not act because nothing has happened to her yet. She is at home waiting for that to change.
She has also reported it to the council. The property is not a licensed HMO and is not registered with Rent Smart Wales. In Wales every private landlord must register with Rent Smart Wales. This let is operating illegally.

In the clip her bare, pregnant stomach is exposed as she's held, then taken to the ground and pinned while she cries out.

It's difficult to watch.
