Bomber Run 63 - Ops Beginning Again? #IranWar#FreeIran
Overnight, B-1B "Lancer" bombers flying from RAF Fairford (EGVA) conducted strikes in Iran as the US ramps up operations again. Although 2 bombers launched, it appears it was pre-planned that only 1 of them would actually fly the combat mission into Iran, with the second airframe returning to RAF Fairford as scheduled around 6hrs after departure. As with previous missions, once the bombers get into CENTCOM, identifying which tankers refuel them in theatre is tricky at best hence the gap for the return flight!

The Twelfth Air Force has published photos from a “demonstration mission” carried out earlier this week off the coast of Venezuela by several B-52H “Stratofortress” Long-Range Strategic Bombers with the U.S. Air Force’s 2nd Bomb Wing stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, with them seen being escorted by Marine Corps F-35B Lightning lls armed with AIM-9X “Sidewinder” Air-to-Air Missiles, attached to the “Vikings” of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 225 (VMFA-225), temporary deployed to Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico.
