Not even a MIA fan but Jimmy Butler is one of the best players I’ve ever seen. He’s so under-appreciated because he doesn’t put up crazy stats in the regular season like all these other guys. But there are very, very few guys in history that can do what he can in the postseason.

Only real difference is the people that work for him are not NFLPA certified, & can’t speak with teams on his behalf. But he still has (likely) educated and experienced individuals working with him & advising him. He’s not handling everything on his own like most seem to believe.

Lamar Jackson would be best off hiring a legit NFLPA certified agent. But this is misleading. It’s not like he’s handling negotiations on his own. He has an entire team of consultants, lawyers, business reps, etc. who are working with him. It’s not like he’s going in blind.

The importance of getting yourself a good agent & surrounding yourself with a honest team of professionals cannot be overstated. It does not appear that he had either of those. With the right guidance, he could have easily avoided this.
