Attended a meeting today on business development and personal branding. One thing that came out was the importance of relationships. Sustain mutually beneficial relationships, be useful to others, take interest in their professional life and depending on the outcome, personal life.

Take them out for a drink/coffee or even lunch, not to sale anything but to build relationships which become self fulfilling in the sense that they will eventually yield positive results.

This is even more important for those in sales, business development, marketing, PR, etc.
