What a country !! Took a loan from the IMF, then stopped a potential World War, also attacked Afghanistan, talked ceasefire with China, then became a Global Peacemaker, also stood with Iran, then condemned attack on KSA, then negotiated with Trump while the nation watched PSL.
While the mainstream celebrates Eid, the families of Baloch missing persons are on the roads protesting for the recovery of their loved ones. Their voices cannot be ignored. Their demands for justice cannot be ignored.

Hammad Bhai somehow I expected a better tweet from you. Alhamdolillah, I trust you have competence and financial integrity; I also expected you to show intellectual honesty and moral courage. But you elected not to. You know neither I nor @SKhaqanAbbasi was guilty of any financial corruption. Asad Umer knew it; as Engro Chairman he had bid a much higher price for this terminal. Imran Khan knew it. Yet your leader and party chose to persecute us and all of you stood silently. Even today you couldn’t bring yourself to say you guys were wrong and should never have done it. Introspection and self-criticism is not easy, but it is necessary.
Today your party is under the hammer. Some of which you brought onto yourselves by riding the shoulders of the establishment and curtailing political space for all political actors. And you know it, but won’t admit it.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and I say openly that this is present government is constructed on the basis of Forms 47. That PTI had the more votes, seats and legitimacy. We have openly said that the people involved in the May 9 attacks must only be prosecuted and not persecuted, cases of under-trial prisoners should be resolved forthwith and that women prisoners, who are entitled to bail under our laws, should be given bail.
I have ridiculed on tv the Iddat case and the ToshaKhana asset mis-declaration case. But I cannot in good conscience say that deliberate undervaluation of ToshaKhana watches was not corrupt or giving Baharia Town £190 million in exchange for certain gifts was anything but corrupt. I think in your heart you too agree to this.
I and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have raised our voices and told the truth. Have you?
You want a Naya Pakistan? Start with saying the 2014 Dharna was wrong and anti-democratic. Say that kicking out Mian Nawaz Sharif for not taking Director’s fees was wrong. Say jailing many innocent PMLN and PPP leaders was wrong. Before you give sermons to others about condemning oppression, admit to your part in oppressing others.
You want the establishment to not be part of politics? Stop saying you will only talk to them. Talk to your political opponents. Think of them as your political adversaries and not your enemies. When you try to rob them of their legitimacy, you destroy your own space.
Peaceful protests are your right. Absolutely; but you guys are no longer the ladlas. Others have taken that spot. So engage in peaceful protests and don’t think you can now get away with what you could in the past.
Yours is by far the biggest political party in Pakistan. Keep looking only to the people of Pakistan. Don’t look for shortcuts again. Power can come and go. But honour once lost cannot be regained.
Allah says in Surah e Ash-Sharh
“So, surely with hardship comes ease. Surely with that hardship comes more ease. So once you have fulfilled your duty, strive in devotion. Turning to your Lord alone with hope.”
May Allah guide us all and eases our hardships.
It was a Christian youth Tariq Jhonson who shielded young woman from angry mob in Ichra till police arrived. Tariq risked being lynched in name of religion. While saluting the lady police officer for her courage let's also spare a thought for Tariq Jhonson. Truly, national heros
Dear Ahmedabad,
You are pathetic. You are the kind of people who should only watch cricket on televisions. What you people shouted and chanted at Pakistan players yesterday was horrible. Something no other country would ever do. Unlike Hyderabad, where people knew how to sit in a stadium and watch a cricket match, it is sad that you people weren’t taught the most basic of things. Mannerism.
Here are some of the awful scenes at the stadium yesterday:
* Loud booing at Babar when he was speaking at the toss, making it hard for everyone to hear.
* Hindu religious chants at Babar while he was walking back to the dressing room.
* "We are your father" in Hindi chants.
* "Pakistan on our di***" in Hindi chants.
There are even worse chants I heard in videos that I cannot even type here. It is sad that Pakistan players had to go through this in a World Cup match where every game counts. But then again, horrible, horrible people, I must say.
About a month back, India did not want to visit Pakistan for security reasons for the Asia Cup, which eventually led the entire tournament into chaos. One would expect decency at least from the crowd since Pakistan set aside their ego and came to India anyway for the WC and did not retaliate like kids.
In the end, I guess nothing matters because in a decades time, we might as well change the tournament’s name to BCCI Cricket World Cup since India is literally controlling this sport in every sense.
A Stadium full of Indian fans cheering the Pakistan team on shows the sheer amount of love the people of both countries have for each other.
This is why Sports and Cultural Exchange makes the war hawks so afraid. They have to sell a fake fear and hatred narrative for their agenda
This is the beauty of sports, Sports see no boundaries
You can hear voice of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians together in unison chanting Pakistan jeetega
What a beautiful example of coexistence and supporting the team which played well today❤️

The fearless young hero who stopped a suicide bomber from entering his school and saved hundreds of lives, 2014
On January 6th, 2014, 15-year-old Aitzaz Hasan looked death right in its eyes and challenged it. The young man was attending his high school in Hangu Village in Pakistan, which had a reputation for anti-terrorist attitudes. The school had an estimated student body of 2,000 students.
As he was walking to school with two friends, Hasan noticed a suspicious man walking towards the school, who seemed like he was carrying something under his clothes. Hasan and his friends then noticed there was a detonator attached to under the man's clothing. This mysterious man was a suicide bomber who was about to walk into the school to murder as many children as possible. Hasan made his way towards the terrorist while ignoring his friend's pleas not to. Hasan said to them "I'm going to stop him, he is going to school to kill my friends". Hasan's friends ran inside the school to raise the alarm. Hasan, however, stood his ground. He threw a rock at his attacker but missed. With no other options, Hasan charged the terrorist and tackled him to the ground. In response, the terrorist activated the detonator, killing himself as well as Hasan.
Hasan was the only death as a result of the blast. His heroic actions saved many lives that day. His school was renamed Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed High School. General of the army staff Raheel Sharif said that Aitzaz Hasan is "a national hero, who has sacrificed his today for our tomorrow." He is also described as a "symbol of resistance against terrorism." He has also been named as a martyr of Pakistan. He also received an award for his bravery.
Hasan's family was given compensation. His father said, "My son made his mother cry but saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children." The 2016 film, Salute, is based on Hasan and his heroic actions.

A 🧵comparing Ghana, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, and what it teaches us about dealing with crises ...
Ghana and Sri Lanka formally defaulted during the last two years, Pakistan did not
but currency devalued by 1/2 for both Pakistan and Ghana, and 1/3rd for Sri Lanka
Anybody who thinks what is happening to PTI is unprecedented, and is the worst form of fascism ever, please listen to @SyedMuzammilOFL

There are no grand plans. The 'deep' conspiracies are actually extremely shallow. Those making the decisions don't actually know what they are doing and do not have the intellectual abilities to anticipate reactions, because they do not allow for dissenting opinion/ scenarios.
People are sadly mistaken if they think they can weaken the establishment by attacking their homes and places. It will prove counterproductive.
Civilians can only make establishment irrelevant by demonstrating good governance when they are in power.
There are no shortcuts to restoring civilian control. What happened today is bad news for civilian rule.
