WHAT DOES TEXTILE WASTE LOOK LIKE WHEN IT COMES TO MUDDLEART?
While textile waste is in a better condition than post-consumer plastic, sorters still wade thru ots of foreign material. This is because of how waste is treated at the source.
A conversation with our sorting staff:

In 2018, ~43% municipal waste in Europe was sent to landfills. This initiative is not just about waste reduction. By 2025, the EU aims to reduce landfilling to <10% of all municipal waste, channeling more waste into recycling, composting & energy recovery!

Our team had the pleasure of hosting Mr Ranjit Sasi, Director Business Operations (India) @ReverseResourcs at our Faridabad facility. He spoke about the growing future of #textilewaste management in the country & sustainable practices in the textile and apparel supply chain
Our Faridabad unit currently processes over 700 tonnes of textile waste and has been certified under ISO for quality management, environmental, occupational health and safety management
The supply chain relation between brands and apparel manufacturers can propel the ecosystem to relook at textile waste and the impacts it brings for the people, planet and profit. We may just have a determinant for who gets to sit at the table! (3/3)
With proaction towards #sustainability determining one’s seat at the table, sportswear brand Nike retained its no. 1 position in the recently released Brand Finance’s Apparel 50 2023 report. The brand’s effort towards sustainability is attributed for its top ranking (thread) ⬇️
It is estimated that managing 60 tonnes of #textilewaste can create a full time job for 1 textile waste worker annually. Moreover, garment and apparel manufacturers whose textile waste MuddleArt managed, reported a 100% retention rate of their existing clients. (2/3)
