@Brainard76801@sbzcomps Was salah from an elite background? How about mane? Vvd? Locally Milner, Shaqiri or lallana? How about haaland before city got him? Musiala? Wirtz? Bellingham? Olise? Doue? Anderson?
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps If you want to talk about player value and elitenesss then madrid should have won the league, the ucl, beat barca in all the classicos but they lost, severely to a team full of kids. Barca got arguably the best youngest keeper on a steal and look at his perfomances.
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps Bodo bet city, inter and atletico, frankfurt gave us ekitike, como created nico paz, wrexham? No words, sunderland qualified for europe, roma is in the ucl, leverkusen sold arguably over 210m in talent, lens, lille in ucl, so define elite again
@IanDoyleSport Y'all complain too much. We'll sign 2-3 more player then probably go ahead to win the league just ahead of maybe tottenham. Am sure negotiations are ongoing for maybe 2 defensive options and a Forward that can play CF. Just bc others are signing dont mean create pressure.
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps Again you are wrong, lens, lille, brest, leverkusen, frankfurt, Stuttgart? Como, wrexham, roma, sunderland, coventry, bodo/glimt are just examples of teams built off low budget investments with immense success because they build long term. If you want immediacy then hala madrid
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps Everyone wants us to play gegenpress but its down to the belief Klopp left of how our identity should look. Arguably slot never won the league using the same tactical input but via open play & failed to do so in his 2nd sn. Got ekitike injured when he tried to force it vs psg
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps The system is always secondary to the belief. Its why Dele Ali was on a hot streak then feel off and began blaming Mourinho. Players build themselves. Coaches guide. That's why some succeed where others dont, Cr7 integrates himself, vvd built himself post-injury.
@SamiHenchoz Player value is not a precursor to success. Bayen and Chelsea are contrasting case studies for this. If barcelona didnt have their academy they would suffer rn bc every player wants madrid for the ucl prestige even if they are not in that caliber
@SamiHenchoz How much was Yamal? Trent? O'reilly? Gavi? Pedri? How much was and now is Diomande? Nmeka? Ekitike? Vitinha? Doue? Fermin lopez? Trent? Gavi? Yamal? Rio? The best players are developed, take a risk or suffer. You see what having too many old players has done to Dortmund, man utd
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps Pep created an identity with city, arteta, tasteless as it may sound created one with arsenal, psg has their own, atleti have their own. Our best comebacks are not built on a system but belief(barca, Dortmund, Istanbul, Everton). If a player doesnt have that we shouldnt sign them
@SamiHenchoz We can, but we need younger players=more risks so negotiations will take time behind the scenes but will be sealed rapidly once they leak. Established players are now too expensive and just as similarly possess equal if not higher performance risks so its not economically sound.
@MrBrahmin_ For me we ought to get rodrigo mora, ibrahim mbaye, a young Lb/rb, one more cb and should have gotten lewandowski free as a placeholder. We'll still sign 3 players & I strongly believe negotiations are ongoing for all 3 and will be done by the time of the 2nd preaseason game
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps We dont need major signings. Look at PSG, barca with very affordable "old" placeholders for gavi, pedri, doue diomande. We need generational kids with world class development. We could get Ibrahim Mbaye from psg but i doubt the sell for anything less than 70m(worth it to me btw)
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps I would describe him as mateus Fernandez with coutinho-like movement, passing like wirtz and positioning like Belgium's de ketelaere. He's 19. By the time he gets to 22, he might just be the best attacking mid if developed right. Potential footwork and movement of kaka and ozil
@MrBrahmin_ I think Iraola keeps him and he'll be a starter to be used like murphy with newcastle...stay higher up and just put balls in that cut through defences during counter attacks or slow the game because only jones has that currently.
@Brainard76801@sbzcomps He doesn't offer leadership. Also when's the last time liverpool bought a player with even a smudge of a scandal let alone a guilty verdict? We need captain-worthy players, Anderson would have been it but the price and haggling over against 3 teams just wasn't it.
@MrBrahmin_ He blocked elliot & I think this rubbed most players off and they wanted him gone, and thats might be why Salah's post was liked by most players. Bc if you are mistreating him, then you'll do the same to others. So slot chose teams that would offer least backlash except gakpo
@MrBrahmin_ I think we failed last sn due to Slot's pride. Chiesa, Endo, Jones deserved game time. He could have put aside issues with Salah too for the team. Won't be shocked if he blocked elliots return bc he wouldn't play so the club just left him at villa to save on wages.
@MrBrahmin_ I don't ascribe to giving players numbers, he's a 10 etc because it doesnt always work...Look at how a hybrid system thrives for spain in Oyarzabal, ferran torres, even yamal. Zinchenko in midfield for arsenal, bernado silva as a winger and MD Results matter more than positions
