He looks sharper, quicker and probably in the best shape we’ve seen him in. You can tell he’s put serious work in over the summer, and now he looks ready to take another step and fight to be the best right winger in the Premier League.

Last season was his first at Manchester United and AFCON disrupted his rhythm, but now he has a full pre-season, knows his teammates, understands Carrick’s system and already has a year at the club under his belt.

Everything is there for him to explode this season. I’m setting the target high: 25+ goal contributions in all competitions.

🚨I genuinely feel sorry for Mason Mount and hope it’s nothing serious and he’s back quickly.

But let’s face reality — his injury record is a massive concern. We simply cannot go into another season expecting him to suddenly stay fit and play 25-30 games in a row.

Anything we get from Mount should be viewed as a bonus, I really hope INEOS realise this and sign another midfielder. It’s not optional anymore, it’s a necessity.
