At 78, when many people would be expected to rest and depend on their families, Henry Balikowa, a resident of Iganga District eastern Uganda,continues to fetch water every day to earn a living.
He fetches about 50 jerrycans daily,selling each for just Shs500.

Of the 24,787 water sources available in Burundi in 2019, 10% have already dried up, 6% are in the process of disappearing. Only 72% water sources are in good condition, according to Jérémie Nkinahatemba, former Director General of Environment and Sanitation.
