@theresalkrupp Linear is my preference..but sometimes that 'brilliant idea' makes its appearance late in the writing and needs to be gradually introduced or 'woven in' and developed across the earlier portions of the storyline.

@bharperstudio I have heard ER doctors describe the destruction that an AR-15 does to a body. I suspect the rising number of children who died in the aftermath is a result of irreparable organ/tissue damage. Those who want to protect AR-15 ownership should see for themselves (IMHO)
