When I was Muslim, I compared Muhammad’s last words to Jesus’ last words.

Not just the facts, but the spirit behind them.

And bro, the difference is staggering. It shook my devout Muslim faith.

According to Sahih al-Bukhari, Muhammad’s final words included: “May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians. They made the graves of their prophets into places of worship.”

Those are words associated with his final moments.

No forgiveness. No reconciliation. No peace.

Now compare that to Jesus.

Beaten, betrayed, tortured, hanging on a cross with nails through His wrists, Jesus says:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

And then: “It is finished.”

One dies speaking curses.

The other dies extending forgiveness.

One ends by drawing lines and reinforcing division.

The other tears the veil and reconciles heaven and earth.

And whether people like it or not, final words reveal something deeply personal about the heart.

That contrast shook me.

Because one man’s final moments reinforced separation, while the other’s changed eternity through mercy, sacrifice, and love.

Dismantling the so called Islamic Dilemma Argument by Christians Regarding Surah 10 : 94

Christians like to point to verse 94 of Surah Yunus to make the argument that the Quran affirms the Bible that they have in their hands right now, or even to ask the Jews and Christians regarding its authenticity.

So if you [Prophet] are in doubt about what We have revealed to you, ask those who have been reading the scriptures before you. The Truth has come to you from your Lord, so be in no doubt.” (10:94)

They take it to mean that the Quran is asking the Prophet to ask the Jews and the Christians to confirm its truthfulness, and of course, if you ask a jew or a Christian, he will say the Quran is false. This is their argument.

The argument is so ridiculous that all it needs to dismantle it is to look at its context. I do not need to teach that texts should be read in their context, it is common sense. Let’s look at what comes before verse 94:

We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.

Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters?

So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless.

We had certainly settled the Children of Israel in an agreeable settlement and provided them with good things. And they did not differ until [after] knowledge had come to them. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

So if you are in doubt about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.
(10:90-94)

We are not driving into deep linguistic but a plain textual and contextual reading. The Quran mentions Pharaoh's story, his drowning, then immediately says to the prophet - If you are in doubt regarding what we revealed to you, then ask those who read the scripture before you. It even connects verse 94 with the story of Moses and Pharaoh with the letter Fa (therefore). It is directly connected even by plain language.

So what is the ayah really talking about? To understand, here is a small Quranic lesson for Christians. I know they are quite fond of breaking texts away from their contexts (just look at what they do with the OT), but here is a small lesson for you on how to take into account the whole picture when you read scriptures.

The Quran applies the prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:18 to Prophet Muhammad directly. It says that whatever happened with Moses, will happen with Muhammad as well. Christians will deny it but I am only telling you what the Quran says.

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger. (73:15)

This is why, when the Prophet is in distress, how does Allah comfort him? By recounting the story of Moses to him. Why? Because Allah is comforting him by saying that your life and prophethood will mirror Moses and his prophethood, so take comfort in the story of Moses. This is visible in the initial verses of Surah Taha:

Ta Ha
We did not sent down to you the Qur’ān that you be distressed
But only as a reminder for those who fear
A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens,
The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established
To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil.
And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.
Allāh - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names
And has the story of Moses reached you? -
When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance."
(20:1-10)

Notice the last verse. Did the story of Moses come to you? You can clearly see the context. The Prophet is under pain and is grieving because of the harsh conditions he and the Muslims were being subjected to. This is an early Makkan surah. How does Allah comfort him? By recounting the story of Moses and Pharaoh to him. Why? Because he is the second Moses. Allah is comforting him that he will migrate away from the oppressors just as Moses did and also, victory will come to him eventually, just as it came to Moses. Both of these came true. The parallels are quite striking as well. For example, a small one is that both Moses and prophet Muhammad were not only chased by their enemies as they were migrating, but also came within striking distance from them.

But victory comes to all messengers, not just Moses as Allah says:

Allāh has written [i.e., decreed], "I will surely overcome, I and My messengers." Indeed, Allāh is Powerful and Exalted in Might. (58:21)

So why specify Moses to give him comfort? Why not just mention any messenger and recount his story to him? Because he is the second Moses. Allah is telling him his life story and mission. You are the second Moses, here is the story of Moses again to comfort you. This is also visible in other places of the Quran where Allah will again draw the parallel between not only the prophets Muhammad and Moses, but also between the Muslims and the children of Israel in Surah sajdah verse 23-24:

We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting.1 And We made it [i.e., the Torah] guidance for the Children of Israel.
We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs. (32:23-24)

Now that it is clear that the Quran likens Muhammad to Moses, let us come back to Surah Yunus verse 94.
Straight after recounting the story of Moses with Pharaoh, Allah tells prophet Muhammad:
So if you are in doubt, about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters. (10:94)

This is referring to the story of Pharaoh and Moses! It even explicitly connects verse 94 with it with the letter Fa! Ask the people who read the scripture before you - the Jews and the Christians - regarding the story of Moses and Pharaoh. Will they attest that this happened? That Moses was victorious and Pharaoh was drowned? Go and ask them if this is indeed what happened. They will affirm this to you. They will affirm that yes, the story of Moses and Pharaoh is present in our scriptures, and God gave victory to Moses and drowned Pharaoh who oppressed the children of Israel just like Abu Jahl and his friends were oppressing the Muslims in Makkah. So do not be in any doubt that you too will be victorious like Moses, and that the Makkans will be defeated like Pharaoh, because you are the second Moses. This is all its saying.

The Quran criticizes the Jews and the Christians repeatedly, even calling them accursed. Why would the Quran ask the Prophet to ask them about its validity when it calls them cursed and even says, they wish to turn the Muslim away from Islam and will never be pleased unless Muslims turn away from their religion and become Jews or Christians

Never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allāh is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allāh no protector or helper. (2:120)

Their whole desire is to turn the Muslims away from Islam so why on earth would the Quran ask the Prophet to confirm the truth of the Quran from them? They will of course call it false to fulfill their desire of turning the Muslims away from it! All surah 10:94 is referring to is the story of Moses and Pharaoh. The Christian argument is laughable and stupid. Christians, learn to read the text in its context and holistically. Your shenanigans of breaking texts apart from their contexts and ignoring the holistic picture, is to your own detriment. You do the same with the OT, and do the same with the Quran. To justify your faith, you come up with absurd arguments.

The plain and simple reading of the text shows it is referring to the story of Pharaoh and Moses. A contextual reading is all that is needed. You do not even have to indulge in deep study, it is so apparent at first glance.

It took me 30 minutes to write this with most of the time spent on editing typos and refining the text. 30 minutes to refute an argument Christians have been making for decades.
