I used to think the barrier to institutional DeFi was mostly regulatory — banks waiting for clearer rules, not a technical gap

@primus_labs own lending documentation describes something more specific: on-chain lenders currently can't see off-chain credit data, so most DeFi loans default to heavy over-collateralization, with no way to adjust for a borrower's actual creditworthiness.

Their proposed fix isn't collecting that data on-chain. It's proving it.

Using zkTLS, a borrower's credit score, income, or payment history can be verified from the original off-chain source without the lender ever seeing the underlying record — and their documentation describes that verified signal as a lever that could move the lending rate itself, for example from 70% to 75%.

That's a documented mechanism, not a guaranteed outcome — whether lenders actually trust a cryptographic proof enough to move those numbers in practice is still unproven at scale.
