MINISTRY OF HEALTH STEPS DOWN DIPLOMA AND MIDDLE-CADRE TRAINING IN PHYSIOTHERAPY
The Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, has officially stepped down the proposed diploma training in physiotherapy and any form of middle-cadre training in physiotherapy and other medical rehabilitation professions in Nigeria.
This decision was reached at a meeting held today, September 16, 2026, at the instance of the Honourable Minister in his office.
The meeting, which was convened by the Honourable Minister to resolve the disagreement between the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) and the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTBN) regarding the proposed creation of a middle cadre and diploma training in physiotherapy, ended with a resolution on the matter following an extensive and engaging deliberation.
The meeting was chaired by the Honourable Minister of State for Health and attended by the Director of Regulations and Professional Schools and other top directors of the Federal Ministry of Health; the Director of the Community Health Board; the Registrar of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTBN), Prof. Rufai Yusuf Ahmad; the President of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP), Dr. Oyinlola Felix Odusanya; the NSP Vice President, Dr. Usman Abba; and representatives of the President of the Association of Clinical and Academic Physiotherapists of Nigeria (ACAPN), Dr. Ayodele Alabi and Dr. Emmanuel Aliyu.
The NSP President uses this opportunity to sincerely appreciate physiotherapists at home and abroad for standing firm in defence of the profession against a policy that could have taken physiotherapy several decades backward.
Your support, solidarity, and relentless advocacy against this policy have contributed significantly to ensuring that it does not see the light of day.
I urge all physiotherapists, both at home and abroad, to continue to provide this kind of affirmative support to our professional associations as we work together to establish a comprehensive rehabilitation policy for the country.
The visibility, unity, and active engagement of our professional associations are critical at this important phase of rehabilitation policy development. Therefore, all hands must remain on deck to ensure that our collective professional interests are protected at all times.
Thank you.
Dr. Oyinlola Felix Odusanya
President, Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy

🚨🗣️Wayne Rooney on Bruno Fernandes: “If you are playing Cristiano Ronaldo, you have to USE HIM.
The ball could have been put in the box here, from Bruno but he REFUSED to put it in.
If you play him, you have to USE HIM, on set pieces he is still a MASSIVE THREAT for Portugal.
Don't play him the ball 30 yards from the goal, that's not his strength anymore.
Get to him into the penalty area where he is still EFFECTIVE.”
Islam goes to America. 💀
This inscription you see on the Saudi flag (with shahādah) is what makes people become Muslims.
It was brought to the American soil in Miami stadium in the game against Uruguay.
The prophecy will be fulfilled. Islam will get to every household in the world.
