Three people have been arrested over the de@th of 25-year-old University of Jos graduate and model, Ibrahim Mbaya, popularly known as Ibee, after he was be@ten to de@th over claims that he stole an iPhone in Plateau State.

According to reports, Ibrahim attended a social event and spent the night at a friend’s apartment because it was too late for him to go home.

The next morning, his friend said an iPhone was missing and accused Ibrahim of taking it because they were the only two people in the room. Although Ibrahim first left, he later returned after he was asked to come back and explain himself.

When he returned, he was att@cked by his friend and several other young men, who beat him with sticks and other objects while trying to force him to admit he stole the phone. He eventually became unconscious and later died.

The Plateau State Police said they have arrested three suspects Rinji Daniel Fwanji, Emmanuel Newyear and Nensemka Fwanji while they continue to search for others who fled.

Police also said one of the suspects was seen in a viral video hitting Ibrahim with a large wooden plank.

The police condemned jungle justice and warned that anyone who takes the law into their own hands will face prosecution.
