Crystal Palace have become the first club to open a dedicated support centre for players after they’ve been released from the academy. 👏

The idea is to limit the risk of mental health issues for released young men. 🙌

The three-year aftercare package will support released academy players in making a way of life, outside of football.

Not only are the Eagles smashing it on the pitch, they are smashing it off the pitch. Great initiative. 🦅

💯 ton up for the skipper 💯

Yesterday our club captain @owenmorgan14 made his 100th appearance for the club - a huge and ultimately rapid milestone for someone who’s given absolutely everything to us on and off the pitch since joining in 2021.

After leaving Glam and with Cardiff now his home, he’s been a massive part of the club’s success in the first half of this decade. Since taking over as captain in 2022, he’s led us to two league titles (‘22 and ‘24), including last year's unforgettable treble. He’s also played a key role in three title-winning sides overall.

He's not one for stats, but with the bat:

🏏 2,689 runs at 45.58, including 1 ton and 19 fifties.

With the ball:

🎯 152 wickets at 15.65, 7 five-fors, best of 6/20, economy under 4.

But it’s not just about stats. Morgs is the kind of bloke we all want at our clubs - a leader, a competitor, a club-first guy who gives more back than anyone. From helping our youngsters, to doing the unseen bits that keep the club ticking - he’s fully bought into what we like to think we’re about as a club.

You certainly can’t have 11 Owen Morgans. But one’s more than enough. One of the very best to play for the Stags.

We’ll be marking his 100-game milestone properly with a cap presentation at the end of season dinner - but for now, just a big thanks to the skipper 👏

Batting first, a much-changed Stags XI posted 212-5 thanks to 💯 from the skipper @owenmorgan14 (107) up top, ably supported by Owen Brown (53).

In reply, Cardiff posted the same score but for the loss of seven wickets, courtesy of a quality knock by Umar Malik.

@bhavyadoshi50 (2-33) and Joe O'Gorman (3-50) with the wickets for the Stags, before the drama of the last ball and a direct hit from Sherwood. Stags sneak through on the tie!
