Original ITR अभी तक process नहीं हुई, revision का अधिकार खत्म हो गया और गलती सुधारने के लिए ITR-U में extra tax!
यह compliance नहीं.. system failure की कीमत taxpayers से वसूलना है..
Date extension न देना सरासर अन्याय है..
#extend_due_dates_immediately
For AY 2025–26, the original ITR due dates were extended (non-audit cases till 15 Sep 2025 and audit/corporate cases till 10 Dec 2025). But the last date for Belated/Revised ITR remains 31 Dec 2025, leaving an unusually short gap.
A large no. of returns are still not processed, especially cases involving big refunds or other complications. Meanwhile, taxpayers are receiving bulk communications on mismatches / refund issues / doubts on deductions & exemptions. Many genuine errors come to light only after processing and can be corrected only through revision-rectification doesn’t cover everything!!
Request: Please extend the due date for Belated/Revised ITR (u/s 139(4)/139(5)) to prevent avoidable financial loss to genuine taxpayers

Recapping 2025...
As the year 2025 ends, it honestly feels like we all tax professionals have survived more than what we worked for.
Professionally, this year will be remembered for being the most difficult ITR and tax audit season there could ever be, probably the most stressful, chaotic, and draining phase in recent years.
Audit due dates, non-working portals, constant changes, client pressure, and zero margin for error. Most of us were running on deadlines, not on sleep.
Going forward, all we really hope for is simple - that the Government and authorities start treating professionals with some appreciation and understanding, that deadlines are realistic, and most importantly, that portals actually work when compliance is expected. We don’t ask for favours, just functional systems and respect for the effort professionals put in.
Coming on the personal front, this was probably the most difficult year personally and professionally. Through it all, I strongly felt the blessings of my late dad guiding me.
My mom, my sisters, my brother, friends family stood by me silently and I am forever grateful for that.
There were some good moments beyond the professional front too. Being victorious in the Sangrur NIRC elections was humbling. My Tax Updates WhatsApp group grew from around 900 to 2,500+ professionals, it feels special and it has become a real support system.
On X, I, along with many other professionals was consistently at the forefront of the due date extension campaign for tax audits and ITRs, putting facts and realities on record clearly and without fear.
It was never about optics or followers; it was about protecting the profession from unrealistic expectations built on broken portals. The campaign grew into a collective professional voice.
My X profile amassed 28 million+ impressions this year, with the handle growing from around 12k to 22k+. When the extension finally came on 25th September (coincidentally my birthday), it didn’t feel like a victory but it felt like overdue relief for our professional fraternity.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone here. The kind messages, appreciation for updates, and simple encouragement in this DMs actually matter a lot more than you realise. 🙏🏻
2025 was tough for us all, messy, emotional but real.
Wishing everyone strength, better systems, workable deadlines, and peace of mind in the coming year.
Ready for 2026 for all the tax updates on X - with same crazy fast speed and authenticity as always🙏
Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year. Hoping 2026 treats tax professionals more fairly, with working portals and practical compliance. ❤️🥹

We humbly plead for an ITR extension. As tax professionals, we are drowning under the weight of mounting files and technical glitches. We ask for your empathy; our mental health and families are suffering. Please give us the time.

31/12/2025 (Today) is the last date to claim missing TDS via Belated/Revised ITR!!
Professionals: if clients deducted TDS on professional fees late (during audit), please also revise your own ITR wherever required.
New TDS entry can’t be added through Rectification (154) on portal-revision is the only practical option.
Enter tds entry manually even if the same is not appearing in 26AS

I feel that extending the last date for filing or revising Income Tax Returns beyond 31st December is more important than granting an extension for GST Annual Returns i.e. GSTR 9 or GSTR 9C.
The penalty for late filing of the GST annual return is only Rs 200 per day. However, in the case of Income Tax, taxpayers lose the ability to claim refunds and cannot file or revise returns without paying additional tax once the last date passes i.e. through ITR-U
How will CAs remember 2025?
- Bad portals
- Frequent glitches
- Last-minute changes
- Extended working hours, not due dates
- Panic near deadlines
- Compliance over clarity
- Clients blaming CAs, not systems
And Last but not least “Just one more utility coming” 😅
