📣FACT BUT HARD TO ACCEPT 😩

Arsenal are expected to hold talks with Gabriel Martinelli this week in an attempt to clear the air and discuss his situation. However, despite the meeting, the Brazilian winger could still leave the club before the transfer window closes.

The Gunners have spent around £195 million this summer, including the £35 million required to make Piero Hincapié’s move permanent after his initial loan spell.

So far, Arsenal have brought in only around £40 million from player sales. Leandro Trossard joined Besiktas for £15 million, while Christian Nørgaard moved to Everton for around £7 million. Jakub Kiwior also generated approximately £15 million from his move to Porto after initially joining them on loan, while Karl Hein was sold to Werder Bremen for just under £3 million.

That leaves Arsenal with a significant gap between their spending and income from sales. Although the club are in a strong financial position following record revenues, their Champions League run and domestic success, they are still expected to raise more money through player departures.

That situation could ultimately put Martinelli in the spotlight.

Arsenal appear to have been weighing up whether to sell Martinelli or Ethan Nwaneri, but the club have no intention of permanently parting ways with Nwaneri. Instead, the youngster is expected to leave on loan before the transfer window closes.

As a result, Martinelli could become the player Arsenal are willing to sell, particularly because the club believe they could command around £50 million for the Brazilian.

So, despite the upcoming meeting between Martinelli and Arsenal, his future at the Emirates remains uncertain. A departure cannot be ruled out if the right offer arrives.
