Keith the Apocalypse Bringer is a three-year-old Anglo-Nubian goat in a field in Devon.
Keith should not be underestimated.
Keith has been systematically dismantling the ecosystem since approximately 7am, when he ate a bramble. This is significant because bramble is an invasive scrub species that outcompetes wildflowers, reduces biodiversity, and creates dense monoculture thicket that nothing else can use.
Keith ate it. Keith does this every day. Keith does not charge for this service.
8:15am - Keith ate a thistle. Thistles are also considered invasive scrub in managed pasture. Goldfinches eat thistle seeds, but Keith's grazing will ensure the pasture remains open enough for the ground-nesting birds that can't use dense scrub. Keith has not attended a conservation workshop. Keith arrived at this conclusion by being a goat.
9:00am - Keith dismantled a section of hedge. This was less helpful. Keith does not have a perfect record.
10:30am - Keith escaped the field. He was in the road for eleven minutes. He ate a neighbour's rose. This is not being counted in Keith's environmental impact assessment.
11:00am - Keith was returned to the field. Keith regarded the farmer with the specific expression of an animal that does not recognise the concept of property.
12:00pm - Keith ate more bramble. His digestive system: four stomachs, a rumen full of specialised microorganisms, the ability to extract nutrition from lignified plant matter that would defeat any other animal on this field, is converting scrub vegetation into milk with a fat content of approximately 4.5%. The milk will become cheese. The cheese will be sold at the farm shop. The farm shop is four miles away. The cheese food miles are: four.
3:00pm - Keith produced manure. The manure will grow the grass. The grass will grow the bramble. The bramble will be eaten by Keith.
This system has no inputs.
It has been running since goats were domesticated approximately ten thousand years ago.
Keith is not aware he is saving the planet.
Keith is thinking about whether the fence on the north side has a weak point.
It does. Keith found it at 4:45pm.
Keith got out again.
@PeterSweden7 My local dairy is bovaer free. I buy my milk from them. I haven't bought milk from any supermarket since last year. Avoid lurpak also. Have told my daughter to avoid milk at school also.
@Jenny_1884 There is no Kingdom to King, when Charles openly embraces open borders for all. Doesn't make sense! Used to be a Monarchist, thought it was good for the country. I am not so sure now!
@yankeewally2 Hehe! This is hilarious. Looks like a 2 kilo bag of spuds tucked in there. This is why Old Meg had to leave the RF. She could never fit in. No class, no style, no etiquette, no nothing. Ouch!
🚨 Dundee: Scotland’s Forgotten City 🚨
I am a Dundonian to my core — a parent, a citizen — and I will not sit quietly while my city is abandoned to crime, drugs, and decay.
Dundee has become Scotland’s most violent city.
➔ Over 8,300 crimes per 100,000 people – higher than Glasgow.
➔ Violent crime up 33% since 2018.
➔ Children as young as 12 caught carrying machetes.
➔ Drug deaths are among the worst in Europe — Dundee has been the drug death capital for years.
➔ 82% of drug deaths here involve street benzodiazepines. Families are being ripped apart daily.
But the crisis runs even deeper.
➔ Dundee ranks among the worst in Scotland for education outcomes.
➔ The poverty-related attainment gap is widening, not closing.
➔ 7% of pupils leave school with barely a basic qualification, locking them into cycles of poverty and despair.
➔ Dundee’s social work services are overwhelmed
➔ Mental health services are collapsing — leaving vulnerable people with nowhere to turn.
The social fabric of Dundee is tearing apart before our eyes.
Families are breaking.
Young people are being abandoned.
Communities are hollowed out by crime, drugs, poverty, and hopelessness.
And the truth is harsh:
If urgent action isn't taken, it will only get worse.
Knife crime will rise.
Drug deaths will rise.
More children will be pulled into gangs and violence.
More families will lose sons and daughters to the streets.
And where are our political leaders?
I contacted every MP, MSP, and councillor representing Dundee:
➔ Stephen Gethins (MP) – Took concerns seriously.
➔ Fraser Macpherson (Councillor) – Raised it with Police Scotland.
➔ Jimmy Black (Councillor) – Acknowledged the crisis, but focused on "co-ordinated messaging" instead of urgent action.
➔ Chris Law (MP) – Dismissed it as a "devolved issue."
➔ Shona Robison (MSP) and the Justice Secretary – Have not even bothered to respond.
This is not just a failure of the Scottish Government. It is a failure of local leadership too.
For years, both national and local politicians have turned a blind eye to the deepening crisis in Dundee.
For years, we have been fed spin, promises, and political blame games — while our communities disintegrate.
The Scottish Government always finds time to:
🔹 Comment on international affairs.
🔹 Push divisive ideological campaigns.
🔹 Launch vanity projects.
But when it comes to violent crime, broken communities, drug deaths, failed education, and collapsing mental health services?
Silence. Excuses. Deflection. Failure.
They have abandoned ordinary Scots whilst playing political games.
Dundee does not need slogans. We do not need press releases. We need:
➔ Emergency investment in policing and community safety.
➔ Proper funding for youth services, mental health, and education.
➔ Real drug rehabilitation programmes — not empty promises.
➔ Leadership that puts Scottish families and communities FIRST.
If the Scottish Government, and Dundee City Council, truly cared about Scotland’s future, they would start by saving Scotland’s broken cities — not chasing headlines abroad.
This is a test of leadership. And right now — they are failing it.
Dundee is bleeding whilst politicians debate nonsense.
Every day without action means another life lost, another family shattered, another young person abandoned to crime and addiction.
The people of Dundee are watching.
The working-class communities across Scotland are watching.
We are done being ignored.
We demand action. We demand safety. We demand a future.

The SNP failed to turn up for a Westminster debate on the prevention of drug deaths yesterday.
Proof, as if it was needed, that they could not care less that Scotland is the drug death capital of Europe.

🚨 SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT QUIETLY RELEASES DRUG DEATH REPORT
📅 Published today (25 March 2025) without fanfare. Here's why you should care 👇
🔹 1,172 drug deaths were recorded in 2023 — a 12% increase from 2022
🔹 This is the second-highest total in six years
🔹 Cocaine deaths hit record highs
🔹 Hepatitis C cases up 31%
🔹 The poorest communities are 15x more likely to die from drugs
🔹 Thousands with opioid dependence are still receiving no treatment at all !
All of this under the so-called “National Mission” to tackle drug deaths.
Meanwhile, access to residential rehab remains limited, and people in the poorest areas are left with nothing but methadone while wealthier individuals access real recovery options.
Scotland deserves better than quiet failures.
