Justin Verlander’s deal with the Mets is for two years and $86 million, per source. It includes a vesting third-year option. After losing Jacob deGrom, the Mets replace him with the American League Cy Young Award winner, who will be paired atop their rotation with Max Scherzer.
@GreggOlson30 So if the goal is baserunners, swinging the bat is statistically the better option. Right now, League average BABIP is .286 while the highest BB% for a player is .198
In my eyes, what’s best for the team is letting the hitters do what they do best: hit.
@GreggOlson30 I trust the hitters ability to make smart choices in the box and swing at the best pitch for them, especially if it’s the first pitch they see.
Asking a hitter to take until they see a strike seems a bit disrespectful to the hitter, doesn’t it?
@michael_schlact It’s just like baseball except all of the players are center fielders and only the home runs count. Makes it way easier to understand for me
