The recently launched Multi‑Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) Project is cascading to districts. Today, the inception meeting takes place in Manicaland, with Mutare and Chipinge border districts at the frontline of child migration.
Remarks read on behalf of the Acting Chief Director Social Development and Labour Administration underscored the Ministry’s commitment to building resilient child protection systems that respond to vulnerabilities faced by children on the move.
Deputy Director Child Protection, Shingirai Paungano, further emphasized:
“This inception marks a deliberate step towards strengthening Zimbabwe’s national and sub‑national child protection systems in response to irregular and unsafe migration, family separation and the vulnerabilities children on the move face. Mutare and Chipinge, due to their proximity to Mozambique and Malawi, require significant mechanisms to ensure that unaccompanied and separated children are protected from violence, abuse and exploitation, while accessing basic services within the districts.”
The Multi-Partner Trust Fund Project is in collaboration with @IOMZimbabwe@UNICEFZIMBABWE and other multiple partners.
