If you want to start getting in shape, start with walking! Set your step goal small and then increase your step goal 1000 each month until you get to 10k steps a day.

You want to get in shape? Start walking. It is one of the best exercises you can do! Don't believe me? Go for a 15 minute walk after dinner for the next 7 days and ask yourself how you feel after.

I was wearing a backpack today and my keys were in the side pocket. I reached back and it was difficult to get them. My first thought was "how can I make this easier" rather than "how can I get my body to reach back further". This is why getting in shape is hard.
