If multi-billionaire Clive Palmer can afford to interfere in the election by spending:
• $4,200,000 on YouTube ads and
• $5,400,000 on free to air ads
it’s a reasonable conclusion that he can afford to pay more tax.

We cannot let the chaos around US trade policy destroy investment pipelines to secure Australia iron, steel & aluminium jobs
We have projects underway right now where Australian steel & aluminium can be used
If we don’t make it here, now is the time to be asking why not
#auspol
@AlboMP commits to $500 million to fill our engineering and fabrication workplaces with Australian made steel.
@PeterDutton_MP has pledged $500 million so that bosses can claim their work lunches as a tax rebate.
Compare the pair.
Good Labor government should have workers’ backs - thanks @AlboMP
Workers aren't wondering how long they've got, but instead how bright their futures can be

We now have a clearer pathway to green steel and a strong future for our communities https://t.co/Oy4aZQWfAx
Our PM @AlboMP has committed $2.4billion to save blue collar jobs at #Whyalla Steel
This isn’t about bailing out a business, it’s about securing workers’ future
Good Labor governments should have workers’ backs
We can now think about the future, and not worry about the past
@OskaArcher@theamwu Gday Oscar,
The manufacturing industry is the highest user of energy in Australia.
Electricity from nuclear will cost between 2-10 times more.
The Dutton proposal is based on a 40% reduction in electricity usage by 2050.
Nuclear is a plan for our local industry closing.
Peter Dutton’s nuclear proposal is based upon a 40% reduction in electricity consumption by 2050.
40% less consumption is the same as unplugging both Victoria & WA from electricity.
The maths don’t add up. The report is nonsense.
Nuclear:
Too late
Too expensive
Too dangerous
It’s astounding how quickly those who attain privilege, position and power turn on the workers.
Workers have a right to withdraw their labour and to demand a fairer deal.
Wtf
@ChrisMinnsMP @johaylen ? https://t.co/0vfVwLgLaH
What is Dutton’s nuclear plan:
Higher prices
Less local industry
Lower household income
This is a dangerous plan that hurts workers.

The CSIRO has found the cost of electricity generated from nuclear reactors by 2040 would be about $145-$238 per MWh
Solar is $22-$53
Wind is $45-$78
Nuclear power would make electricity between 2 & 10 times more expensive
Who pays for that?
The Dutton nuclear announcement is a disaster
It models data for less electricity usage across the economy
Modernising & growing our industries means electricity usage must go up
This is a plan for Australia’s manufacturing industries to be closed down
#Auspol2024#nuclear
Simple mathematics
$331 billion for 7 nuclear power plants = $47.3 billion for each one
This will drive up our power bills
It will destroy our local industries
It will deny workers in our energy regions a secure future
This is a dangerous distraction

TAFE is not all vocational education and training.
TAFE is just the state government run public training provider.
Labor’s approach to skills is akin to only funding state run public schools and refusing to fund non-government schools.
We should not accept that.
I’ve boarded the @Qantas plane to Karratha to visit @theamwu members in WA.
But there’s a water leak. The Qantas engineer has grounded the plane.
Our members make sure every single plane is safe to fly.
No more delays - it’s time for fair pay.

The evil, selfish & greedy ideology of the H.R Nichols Society is being resurrected by the Liberal Party.
The silver-spooners claimed birth right - to rule over the rest of us - is leaking back into politics.
Strong #unions are their greatest fear.

@theamwu members who proudly built and defend @Qantas’ safety record are taking industrial action this week
Highly-skilled workers get pay freezes while the managers get bonuses
Qantas are putting bandaids over gaping wounds

New research from @CntrFutureWork shows Australia COULD manufacture wind towers, turbines, and equipment: creating thousands of jobs, supporting a domestic green steel industry, and avoiding emissions from imported towers. https://t.co/paOmAcKUNw It just needs an industry plan.
