Those who doubted the decision of the Toro Royal Succession Committee and its popularity among the Batoro, here 👇🏾👇🏾is your proof. I’ve not met one Mutoro elder, NOT ONE, who is not in support of the new king!
President @KagutaMuseveni today received a Japanese delegation led by @DGafricaJP Amb. Takahashi Misako at State House, Entebbe. He commended Japan’s support for Uganda’s infrastructure, called for the direct acquisition of heavy equipment for local governments and urged increased Japanese investment, particularly in agro-processing, to create jobs and drive wealth creation.
Later, at Mbale S.S. Grounds, during the celebrations to mark World Tourism Day, I encouraged our people to embrace the four sectors of wealth creation and take advantage of the opportunities in tourism.
Uganda has what Europe has and what Europe doesn’t have, including the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and our favourable climate. Tourism is a major global industry, worth about USD 11.6 trillion, and we must position ourselves to benefit from it.
If you love tourism, agriculture and want electricity, you must be against environmental destruction. Those who destroy wetlands are enemies of the future.
We must also extend last-mile infrastructure to areas such as Bududa and Manjiya to improve access, connect communities and support economic activity.
I am glad that UWA and the Ministry of Tourism have woken up from kugona (sleep).
