Just opened a lovely show Frocks and Floors at Kidderminster’s Museum of Carpets - this fabulous carpet is called Goya, designed by one of my mother’s brilliant students Heather Willis back in the 1960’s. The black dress was part of my mum’s collection of historic garments

To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day the Museum of Carpet has put together a temporary display in the foyer to show some of the items in our collection from WW2.

Come & explore Kidderminster’s contribution to the war effort.

In 2023 the Museum of Carpet were awarded a restoration grant from the Association for Industrial Archaeology (AIA) @AIndustrialArch
The next phase of the museum building maintenance work has now started and will be on going with the aim to be completed by autumn 2024.

Celebrating one of our favourite books, ‘Woven in Kidderminster’ by Melvyn Thompson. This is a superb book giving a glimpse into the carpet industry in Kidderminster from 1735 to 2000.
