🎵Applications open for the dlr Musician-in-Residence Scheme 2026!🎵

Applications are open to musicians working in any genre of music who have a connection with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown or propose projects that link with the area.

Two residencies are available, one will support the work of an established musician or group and has a maximum funding award of €12,000, and an award of up to €7,500 is available to support the work of an emerging musician or group.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of the extraordinary musician Marilyn Mazur.

A master percussionist and musical visionary, we were honoured to tour Marilyn with the Marilyn Mazur Special 4 last year, an experience we will always treasure.

Marilyn’s music, spirit, and boundless creativity touched everyone who had the privilege of hearing her play and her legacy will continue to resonate for many years to come.

May she rest in peace.

💫Music Network and glór are looking for versatile and playful singers/instrumentalists for paid mentorship opportunities with young children and families in Co. Clare in early 2026.

🎵The Music Network Lullaby Residency, designed and led by Eamon Sweeney, is an inter-cultural music project for young children and their families. Running since 2022, it is centred on the learning and sharing of lullabies from different cultures and countries. The Lullaby Residency will run on consecutive Fridays from 20 February to 27 March 2026. Two sessions will take place each day and each session lasts for 1 hour.

🎹Come and enjoy Hánt, Music Network and Ionad Cultúrtha Musician-in-Residence, live in concert on Saturday 22 November at 7.30pm in Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Mhúirne.

🎤Hánt is a seasoned songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. During his residency he has focused on reconnecting with the Irish language and his roots in traditional music, creating new songs as Gaeilge, immersing himself in the Gaeltacht, collaborating with local musician Amhlaoibh McSweeney, and working closely with other local musicians and people from the community.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the distinguished violinist Geraldine O’Grady.

An iconic figure in Irish classical music, we were honoured to have toured Geraldine with Veronica McSwiney in 1991. Her artistry will leave a lasting impact on Ireland’s musical landscape.

As former president Michael D Higgins said of O’Grady’s artistic contribution to Irish society, "There is no doubt that the Irish world of music owes her an enormous debt of gratitude."

We extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues within the music community.
