We’re excited to share our new preprint, headed by Liat Ravid Lustig and @AbhiSampKumar, where we identify the GATA family as tissue-specific activators of Xist, which are required for initiation of X inactivation in early embryos. https://t.co/XqpqmhnYwb. See tweetorial below
How to choose an X chromosome?

Thank you Giulia Furlan for one more great collaboration, and Andrew Keniry for the invitation🙂 a great example of supporting ECRs
Nice Christmas present! Our Preprint on Xist's regulatory landscape is now out @MolecularCell! Peer review added some deletions and an conservation analysis of Xert. Congratulations again to first authors @RutgerGjaltema and @TSchwammle, and thanks to Vivi for the cake!
Finally out in @GenomeBiology! Elegantly designed CRISPR screens identify X-chromosomal genes that mediate sex differences in mammals.
Congrats Oriana and everyone else involved!
How does Xist know whether and when to switch on?
Clever new work from our lab that dissects the contributions of different regulatory regions within the X-inactivation centre, and identifies a new lncRNA #Xert.
How can genes decode information with a defined logic? In our new @biorxivpreprint led by @RutgerGjaltema and @TSchwammle we dissect the regulatory landscape of Xist and find a distal-proximal hierarchy that generates a logical AND-gate. https://t.co/zfjKIIsRkq A thread
A great new piece of work from our lab that dissects random X inactivation at the single cell level and shows that genetic variation modulates the kinetics of Xist upregulation and gene silencing
Our first study using scRNA-seq to analyse how individual cells decide to inactivate one or the other X chromosome at the onset of random X inactivation. Great collaboration with @lisamar2017, led by first author Guido Pacini. https://t.co/NSFTx7P5lZ A thread
What a great birthday gift: Our Review on the Regulation of X Inactivation Onset is finally online! I guess, now everyone has some more time to read. So put this one on your list:

Thanks @EddaGSchulz, it was fun writing this!
