Power selects for a specific personality type, and it is not yours.
F.A. Hayek spelled this out in 1944. In a centrally planned system, the people who rise are not the most competent or the most honest. They are the most willing to exercise force against strangers, the most comfortable with contradiction, and the most skilled at coalition-building through favors rather than merit. Government filters for the bad ones from the start.
The mechanism is straightforward. Political power means controlling resources you did not earn. Capturing that control requires outcompeting rivals who have no ethical constraints. A principled candidate refuses to promise contradictory things to different voter blocs. An unprincipled one does it without blinking. The unprincipled one wins. Repeat this selection pressure across hundreds of electoral cycles and you get the U.S. Congress in 2026: a body where the average member has held office for over a decade, raised millions from interested parties, and delivered almost nothing measurable to the people who voted for them.
Bureaucracy compounds the problem. Once entrenched, state agencies attract people who want authority without accountability. You cannot fire most of them. The FDA, the TSA, the Federal Reserve all function this way, staffed by individuals whose career advancement depends on expanding the agency's reach, never on serving you efficiently.
We called Tuesdays “bloody Tuesdays” when I was at UF. We were very tough and won a national championship. Bloody Tuesdays are back in the ville… Do what you want with that information 🤭🐊
Saw a interview where a guy asked a girl if she cared about the Holocaust and she said no. He replied, “you dont care about 7 million jews?” Man, that number keeps climbing ever year. CRAZY.
I’m glad we get to talk shit again the respect off thing has ran its course. It’s time for the #DisrespectOff against those dweebs in Columbia, Missouri. That’s why your coach was begging for the UF job but we told him no.
@nickysmokess This is f*cking SHENANIGANS. OSU has played nobody + loss to Texas and they’re above FLA?!
Indiana - shouldn’t be top 10 regardless, also above us.
That stupid Midwest bias leaking into even the AP.
This team is pretty special....
The teams Florida has played this year are a combined 12-4. Florida is 4-0.
That means everyone we have played thus far has won every game they've played but the one they played against the Gators.
What if I were to tell you that Aaron Philo played his worst game as a Gator, Vernell Brown III got hurt and exited the game. Florida left at least 21 potential points on the field, and the #Gators blew out a top five team 52-28?
You read that right.
All that went wrong and Florida just obliterated the #4 team in the country anyway.
We’re only gonna get better, too 📈
It’s SO DAMN GREAT to be a Florida Gator 🐊
@AllKindsWeather Bringing Baugh in and out along with the formation disguises is… impossible to beat.
As Saban said today, your only hope is to go man and hope your dudes are better than theirs.
Nobody in CFB can do that.
The beauty of that TD— the second you bring Baugh back in the game, you know the defense is keying in on him. The simplest play-fake and it’s curtains for the defense. Amir Jackson could’ve crawled to the orange paint (if that was allowed) and scored.
