The mother of murdered 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman says she could hear lawmakers laughing while she testified about losing her daughter, and she singled out Rep. Pramila Jayapal for telling the families there were “many other things we could be doing.”

Jessica Gorman didn't hold back Thursday.

“They give us five minutes to tell our daughter's story. Our dead children's story. She listened to four before mine. She didn't want to listen to another.”

Gorman also accused Rep. Jerry Nadler of napping during the congressional hearing.

Sheridan was an 18-year-old freshman at Loyola University Chicago when she was shot and killed near the Chicago lakefront in March. Jose Medina, a Venezuelan national who entered the U.S. illegally and had previously been released following a shoplifting arrest, is charged with her murder.

Jessica Gorman said the families came to Congress to tell lawmakers what happened to their children. Her message Thursday was simple: they deserved to be heard.

BREAKING: Federal law enforcement sources confirm to @FoxNews that the suspect arrested for stabbing two UMass Dartmouth football players over the weekend, killing one, is a Nigerian national who had been in the U.S. illegally as a B-2 visa overstay, but was shielded from deportation by the Biden administration in 2022 when they granted his request for “deferred action” (a discretionary choice by the U.S. government to delay deportation). He then applied for deferred action again in 2025, and the Trump administration approved it and again shielded him from deportation.

Chukwunonso Uzoma David Uzoma Eze was taken into custody by police in Providence, RI after the stabbings, which happened in the parking lot of a lounge, and he is now charged with murder.

The grant, approved by Joe Biden, was a $1.2 million cash grab, considering the garden had been torn out and replaced by First Lady Melania Trump in 2019.

DC District Court Judge Joseph Barron signed the order for Obama to repay the “obviously fraudulent” grant within 30 days and recommended the file be sent to the Justice Department for criminal review.

The fake grant was uncovered early last year during a DOGE audit of the Obama White House.
