Here’s the rundown:

@SilverScriptPDP patient gets a prescription for generic Victoza.

Generic not on formulary, NDC not covered as stated on bottom part of the graphic.

Try brand name Victoza- needs prior authorization.

Prior authorization gets approved for brand name Victoza at a $98.12 LOSS to the pharmacy, and a patient co-pay of $525.03

Brand name Victoza is on manufacturer back-order currently, no idea when it will become available.

The generic version is readily available for purchase for $417.39 from one of our wholesalers.

Which begs the question… if the patient copay is $525 (which would more than cover the cost of the generic product), why is the generic product not on the formulary?

It’s a rhetorical question, obviously the answer has been beaten to death by a thousand people on here.

This patient will not receive their medication because of their PBM’s poor decision making skills. @Aetna @CVSHealth
