PELUM Kenya and @GbiacKe convened a two day stakeholder validation workshop that brought together academia, TVET institutions, research organizations, civil society, and the private sector to shape Kenya's proposed Diploma in Agroecology.
Together, stakeholders validated the curriculum, learning outcomes, competencies, practical training, and assessment framework while ensuring alignment with the CBETA framework and integration of climate change, gender, youth, entrepreneurship, indigenous knowledge, digital agriculture, inclusion, and sustainability.
A technical working team has now been established to refine the curriculum, with an online public survey set to gather wider stakeholder feedback before the programme advances to validation and accreditation.
Together, we are laying the foundation for the next generation of agroecology professionals in Kenya.

Invitation to a Study Report Launch โ Integrating Agroecology within NAPs and NDCs
Greetings from the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) Secretariat!
AFSA through her climate change and Agroecology working group is currently running a campaign on Agroecology for Climate Action, which involves advocating for the inclusion of agroecology in climate policies, frameworks, and strategies at different levels. Agroecology is increasingly recognized as a holistic approach that can address the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and food security.
As African countries strive to meet their climate goals under the Paris Agreement, it is crucial that agroecology is integrated into National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). This presents a significant opportunity to strengthen climate resilience and promote sustainable development. Given the urgent need for effective climate action, AFSA commissioned a study to ascertain the integration of Agroecology within the National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in Africa.
In light of the above, the Climate Change and Agroecology Working group of AFSA is pleased to invite you to the virtual launch of this study report, where we will share key findings, insights, and recommendations. This event will provide a platform for discussion on how policymakers, researchers, and agroecology advocates can collaborate to ensure agroecology is reflected and adopted in African climate strategies and policies.

Disability is an ability towards feeding the future through Agroecological practice: The conventional view of disability often focuses on limitations, but a paradigm shift is needed to recognize disability as a unique form of ability, particularly in the context of Agroecology
