I'm a Jew who's come to know Jesus (Yeshua)- the Messiah who was ‘pierced for our transgressions’ (Isaiah 53:5). Songs for the Master poetry book on Amazon
Following Trump over the last two years, it has become increasingly clear that he either doesn't care about long-term peace in the Middle East, or he doesn't realize that decisions made for short-term political wins and personal image often backfire.
The negotiations with Iran are a perfect example.
The US is rushing toward a deal.
Iran is not.
You don't rush for a deal when you're winning.
You certainly don't spend months talking about a deal around the corner, pressuring your main ally in the region, and looking for an exit at any cost if you're negotiating from a position of strength.
That's what I don't understand.
Washington keeps acting as if Islamist movements are normal political actors that can be managed with agreements, money, and diplomatic recognition.
Obama signed a deal with Iran.
The problem came back.
Now they want another deal with the same Ayatollah regime and expect a different result.
Julani puts on a suit and suddenly he's presented as a partner for stability.
Hamas survives and Trump talks about peace.
It doesn't work like that.
Islamist movements don't suddenly abandon their ideology because politicians want a deal.
The ideology is still there.
The goals are still there.
The people running these movements are still there.
Trump is not only signing a bad deal.
He's signing a deal that does some of the worst possible things for peace and stability in the region while giving Iran some of the things it wants most.
You can sign a deal with Iran.
You can install former jihadists in Syria.
You can leave Hamas standing in Gaza.
The problem doesn't disappear.
It just comes back later.
Usually worse than before.
Elon musk is a trillionaire and like the rest of us will leave this earth with nothing but his soul someday.
Elon, you need Jesus Christ, we all need Him.
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
