I have a concern regarding @AnimalAid creating and promoting a website that claims over 1,000 named greyhounds in the UK are “missing” despite there being multiple legitimate reasons why they would not have raced in over 4 weeks.

I am concerned that presenting these dogs publicly as “missing” risks creating a false impression of widespread misconduct within the industry without sufficient factual basis.

Given the Charity Commission’s guidance regarding responsible campaigning, accuracy of public communications, and protection of public trust and confidence in charities, I respectfully ask whether this form of campaigning language is consistent with those expectations.

This particular charity has previously been subject to action by The Advertising Standards Authority for publishing misleading claims.
