A combatant of Bonteheuwel Inter-Schools Congress (BISCO), Bonteheuwel Youth Movement, Cape Youth Congress (CAYCO), the Bonteheuwel Military Wing and uMkhonto weSizwe trained in Kibashe camp, Angola, affectionately known as the Che Guevara of the Cape Flats.
