Reminder for coaches: the athletes who return transformed next season didn't have better talent. They had a written plan when the season ended.
Did your athletes leave with a plan?
Legacy isn't the highlight reel.
It's what the team believes is possible after you're gone.
This week we're honoring the leaders who set the bar high — and the coaches who'll keep it there.
The off-season question that changes everything: "What did your data say about who you were when it was hardest?"
Pull your MPI dashboard. Have that conversation.

The scoreboard at the end of the season? It's the dumbest smart thing coaches look at.
It tells you what happened. It hides why — and what's coming.
Your MPI data tells the real story. Here's how to read it. 🧵
The athletes who show the steepest MPI growth in the LAST 4 weeks of a hard season?
Those are your next captains.
Not the ones who stat-padded in week 2.
End-of-season MPI growth = competitive character. That's a leadership predictor most coaches never identify in time.
Athletes who use routines consistently stop asking "do I feel ready?"
They follow a process that creates readiness.
That's the difference between athletes who perform and athletes who hope to perform.

Most warmup protocols cover the body completely.
Dynamic warmup. Activation. Skill reps.
Then athletes walk to the starting line or into the box having done zero to prepare the one thing that actually controls performance:
Their mind.
3️⃣ MENTAL CUE (10 sec)
One phrase. Repeated. Silently or quietly.
Examples:
"See it. Do it."
"My process."
"Stay sharp."
"Next play."
It should feel personal and automatic. Like flipping a switch.
With college averaging up to $50K a year, no wonder athletic scholarships feel like everything.
But only 2% of students earn them.
That’s why high school sports must be about developing as a PERSON, not just as an athlete.

This week: introduce the reset to your team. Practice it between drills. Name the steps.

Your athletes are losing focus in competition.
Every single one of them.
So are the opponents.
The difference? Recovery speed.
Here's a 30-second routine that trains exactly that. 🧵
MPI data from spring teams shows it clearly:
Athletes with faster focus recovery scores perform measurably better late in games.
Not because they're fitter.
Because they trained the reset.
Physical conditioning gets you to the final quarter. Mental reset wins it.
