@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp Yes it will always have some value but if bitcoin continues to be adopted it would loose any monetary value it has in the long term. Just as silver lost to gold in the past.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp C'mon you must no that means nothing. Me and you could make a billion dollar market cap coin that takes a piece of the total market cap even tho its completely worthless.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp But if bitcoin fails the only thing you would be left with is a weird payment system. While the chance of a proper sound money that can literally change the world would be gone. If btc fails then any chance of a hard money is gone, then ill buy gold.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp I did not say btc is killing adoption lol I said if btc failed then the whole concept of a crytocurrency being able to store value would be over and anything trying to do it again would have zero trust from anyone. Bitcoin btc is the only chance at achieving this.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp How is btc censored? Anyone can open a group chat and have any rules they like? The only reason people are so against bch is that it tries to mislead people. It is by default an alt coin.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp But fundamentally the only reason it will be adopted is as sound money, bitcoin is the only one that can achieve that. If it fails then no crytocurrency would ever be trusted in our lifetime. All that would be left is a payment system to help move around the worthless fiat.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp (1)But you can just use a credit card its so much safer for the average person than crypto. The real reason crypto would ever go mainstream is as a store of value.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp but if someone could change something that anyone else does not agree with then how can anyone trust it to store value?
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp Also lightning is in very early stages and there is so much work being done to improve on it without changing btc. And even if it fails there is no rush bitcoin is perfect now!
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp I have very limited tech experience and the only time I felt confident buying btc was after big companies and a few very wealthy individuals tried to change one of the rules and failed.
@CeunenBjorn@BitcoinErrorLog @Bitstamp As far as I was aware bitcoin is just bitcoin. There is no 'they' in control. Bitcoin has never changed in its lifetime, it looked to me like the high fees and slow transactions were caused by big company's not adopting the OPTIONAL upgrades?
