Me: [insert problem I'm having with kiddo - constipation, fatigue, disrespect, etc]
MrO: "That doesn't happen at my house."
Mind you, this is the same man that needs a wifi doorbell to alert his watch when his son walks in the front door. THAT doesn't happen at my house.
I remember my ex taking our then 7 y/o on playdates at parks to meet his new Match(.com) friends.
I don't need a wingman for emotional support and my first dates don't take place at parks.
A friend of mine is super skilled at reading emotions in kids. We learned that kiddo is worried about me not being loved (i.e. single). The contrasting experiences of 1 parent being so extremely co-dependent and the other not wanting to be with a another man child is confusing.
Guess who showed up in one of my TikTok lives last week publicly asking if my phone # ended in XXXX?? Except the name in his profile wasn't Alex but Bashar. He asked how much I charged/hr for my work, then asked me out to lunch again. Me: "sorry, I'm way too busy (for kids)."
Went on 1 date with a guy named Alex, June 2020. Through many questions I learned he was getting divorced but still lived w/ his wife, had 2 kids and giving ex full custody because he didn't have time (worked too much), but wanted a girlfriend to spoil and travel with. 😳 What???
I tell kiddo that if he ever feels unsafe to let me know and I'll take care of it. The grown ass adult man makes the money, owns the house, and his blood - the only human in the house w/o a bedroom - is afraid to leave his father. Who the F is taking care of who over there???
Apparently Mr.O's gf either won't talk to my kid at all or yells at him.
"Dad's fixing it."
How much faith do I have in a covert narcissist to recognize passive aggressive abuse in his gf? ZERO.
I have zero faith that MrO even understands the psychological consequences.
Last week kiddo woke up with a headache. MrO tells me he's going to treat him like he's positive (even more isolation) and then use a home kit if he presents another symptom. So punish him even more in his own house without verified reason. A home kit is only $10 at CVS.
It dawned on me that I'd spent a lot of years claiming my ex-husband acted like a 12 year old and now my child is actually 12 and parenting his father's emotional needs. So... I can't say Mr O is acting like a 12 year old anymore. Shit.
Anyone else find themselves learning about topics they had no interest in learning? Upper administration (source/universe) has decided I need to learn about cover narcissism. I'm hoping there isn't a pop quiz.
Did I mention yet how my son got kicked out of his original bedroom when she moved in so that her children could have the bigger bedrooms? And then her parents moved in too, forcing my son to relocate to the loft.
For almost 2 years now my child has had to wear a mask in his own house for fear of killing MrOs girlfriend's parents who live there. Yes, you read that right. They treat him like he's always contagious in his own house. Oh, wait... there's more.
His only response is, "I'll think about it". Should I tell him that the constant darkness is a reflection of what's going on in his head? He's so busy retreating from the world that he needs a notification on his phone to tell him when kiddo walks through the front door.
I keep asking Mr O to get a motion sensor for his front yard or turn on his porch light on the nights my son's getting dropped off because it's so dark sometimes that I can't see my child walk in the house.
If MrO calls my kiddo and kiddo doesn't answer, he activates Google Find my phone so it keeps ringing until he answers instead of just texting or leaving a message. I held the phone in my hand and watched my child panic. I'm pissed that my kid is on a "leash".
So MrO had decided that going to Boy Scouts is too dangerous (COVID might kill our son) but having my child ride his bike to school on a major 3 lane road that requires him to cross the intersection is safe. What?
Listening to @allamericandad111 & the @the_holistic_mystic on TikTok taking about being a better man. 😭What had to happen in my life that my traumas attracted a mentally stunted man child for an ex-husband? Seriously suppresed FBI witness protection grade shit hiding in my head.
