🚨 For the first time, Taiwan has been targeted by pro-Russian hacktivists.
The claimed geopolitically motivated DDoS attacks by noname05716 and Cyber Army Russia Reborn highlight an interesting shift from their more traditional targeting of actions related to the #RussiaUkraineWar
The groups touch on important geopolitical narratives such as the importance of Taiwan as a chip maker and the idea that Ukraine and Taiwan hold similar places in the world as rouge break away regions of much larger states.
There are also interesting undercurrents at play with Cyber Army Russia being strongly linked to Russian intelligence services and the now effective 'take over' of noname05716 by Cyber Army suggesting this could have broaden geopolitical strategic implications then just some hacktivists DDoS a website.

"Attackers make considerable efforts to compromise the smartphones and tablets of military personnel to steal authentication data and transfer GPS coordinates of the devices, which can have direct negative consequences for the lives of personnel."

Ukraine has taken more ground in the last several days than Russia has done in the last 6 months at a fraction of the cost.
How embarrassing for Russia.
How is that 3 day war going?
