The Hunt Institute was honored to convene nearly 100 stakeholders at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for the New Hanover County Attainment Summit. The event brought together leaders across education, workforce, industry, nonprofits, government, and philanthropy to analyze the local attainment landscape, evaluate existing workforce development programs, and construct actionable plans to address remaining barriers to access and opportunity.
The summit’s core mission was to catalyze cross-sector collaboration among local leaders, elected officials, industry partners, educators, and community stakeholders to strengthen regional education and workforce pathways. Throughout the day, strategic conversations continually highlighted the vital importance of aligning K-12, higher education, and workforce systems to ensure more North Carolinians are equipped for long-term career success.
