RiverCities Transit will run fare-free on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to celebrate Earth Day. Come take a ride, and do your part to keep our planet green.
Flushing may stir up sediment that can enter residential plumbing. Residents should refrain from using water while flushing is occurring. After flushing, residents should run water through an outside hose bib or in a bathtub, prior to consuming water or washing clothes.
On Friday, April 18, 2025, the City of Longview utility crews will be flushing water mains between 15thAvenue and the Cowlitz River from Ocean Beach Highway to California Way. Work will begin at 6:00 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m.
During this time, Columbia Heights Rd. will be flagged with one lane of traffic open. To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
The City Streets crew will be performing utility field work on Columbia Heights Rd, between lower Maplewood to Cascade Dr. on Tues, 4/15. Work is scheduled to take place 10am–4pm.
It was a beautiful day for our annual Arbor Day Tree Planting! Three Coastal Redwoods were planted at Lake Sacajawea. Thank you to all who joined to celebrate Arbor Day & Longview's recognition as a Tree City USA for the 41st year and as a Tree City of the World for the 4th year!
Weather permitting, road restoration work will be happening Weds, April 9 in the 2100 block of Branch Creek Dr. The road will be closed to all through traffic on Branch Creek Dr from Melody Way to Greyhawk Lane.

It is recommended to keep water on hand during this shut down for emergency purposes, turn off water heaters at the circuit breaker, turn off irrigation timers, & limit toilet use or store extra water for flushing. Huntington Pl will be closed to thru traffic, local access only.
Water Service Interruption – Glenwood Dr/Huntington Pl
The Longview Utility Department will be performing water system maintenance in the area of Glenwood Dr & Huntington Pl. Work is scheduled to begin at 8am on Monday, 3/31, and is estimated to be complete by 4pm that same day.
Alley closure for concrete repairs
The Street Division will be replacing concrete panels in the alley behind 1547 8th Ave. Work is scheduled to begin at 7am Monday, 3/31, and should be completed by 4pm on Monday, 4/7.
