JOHN WICK vs THE EQUALIZER
Logline
When legendary assassin John Wick is hired by a ruthless Mafia trafficking syndicate to eliminate Robert McCall, both men discover they have been manipulated by the same criminals. Forced into an uneasy alliance, the world's deadliest killer and its most relentless protector wage war against a human trafficking empire while protecting two young sisters whose survival may expose the entire operation.
ACT I: THE CONTRACT
Several years before the events of both John Wick and The Equalizer 3, a powerful East Coast Mafia organization is facing a problem.
Their human trafficking network has begun collapsing.
Safe houses are being raided.
Victims are disappearing.
Money is vanishing.
Abusive enforcers are turning up dead.
One name keeps surfacing:
Robert McCall.
Unable to stop him, the Mafia reaches outside their organization and hires the most feared assassin in the underworld:
John Wick.
The Mafia presents McCall as a former intelligence operative who has gone rogue and become a violent vigilante responsible for murdering numerous associates. They provide photographs, witness statements, surveillance footage, and financial records supposedly proving McCall has become a dangerous criminal.
Wick accepts the contract.
Meanwhile, McCall rescues two Korean sisters, sixteen-year-old Hana and twelve-year-old Soo-Min, from a trafficking operation. The girls reveal details of a much larger network moving victims through ports and shipping companies across multiple states.
Shortly afterward, McCall receives an anonymous warning.
"The Baba Yaga is coming."
McCall pauses.
For perhaps the first time in years, he appears genuinely concerned.
He knows who John Wick is.
ACT II: THE HUNT
Rather than hide, McCall begins hunting his hunter.
Using intelligence contacts and careful surveillance, McCall learns everything he can about Wick.
At the same time, Wick begins tracking McCall.
The trail seems unusually easy.
Too easy.
One lead connects perfectly to the next.
A hidden safe house.
A burner phone.
A vehicle registration.
A storage locker.
Every clue seems designed to be found.
Wick gradually realizes that he isn't finding McCall.
McCall is leading him.
The clues are breadcrumbs.
Each one draws Wick farther away from populated areas and closer to abandoned industrial property near the waterfront.
McCall is deliberately creating a battlefield where no civilians can be harmed.
The realization intrigues Wick.
No ordinary target would think this way.
The deeper Wick digs, the more inconsistencies appear.
Witness statements conflict.
Timelines don't add up.
Financial records seem altered.
The evidence against McCall feels manufactured.
Still, Wick continues.
He wants answers.
ACT III: THE CONFRONTATION
Wick arrives at an abandoned shipbreaking yard.
The location is a maze of rusting cargo containers, dismantled ships, cranes, and dark corridors.
McCall has prepared the area.
Every step becomes a test.
Mechanical traps.
Electrical hazards.
Falling containers.
False paths.
Improvised alarms.
Wick survives each one through skill, intuition, and sheer determination.
The confrontation becomes a brutal battle of minds and experience.
Neither man gains a decisive advantage.
Eventually Wick anticipates McCall's final move.
For the first time, he catches McCall off guard.
A shot rings out.
McCall falls.
Wick approaches and places a gun against his chest.
The contract is complete.
Yet he hesitates.
McCall doesn't plead.
Instead he asks a question.
"Did they tell you about the girls?"
Wick remains silent.
McCall explains.
The Mafia is not fighting a vigilante.
They're protecting a trafficking network.
The evidence was fabricated.
The victims are real.
The girls are real.
McCall shows Wick photographs recovered from a trafficking site.
Hana and Soo-Min.
Children.
Terrified.
Bruised.
Alive only because McCall intervened.
Wick contacts the Mafia intermediary who hired him.
Under pressure, the man's story begins changing.
Details shift.
Names change.
Facts contradict earlier statements.
Wick catches him in a lie.
Then another.
And another.
Finally the truth becomes undeniable.
The contract itself was fraudulent.
The target was never the villain.
The clients were.
Wick lowers his weapon.
McCall slowly stands.
For a long moment neither man speaks.
Then Wick says:
"They lied."
McCall nods.
"Yes."
The alliance begins.
ACT IV: WAR
Together, Wick and McCall launch a devastating assault against the Mafia network.
McCall focuses on intelligence.
Wick focuses on execution.
Safe houses fall.
Traffickers disappear.
Victims are rescued.
The syndicate's leadership retreats to a heavily fortified shipping complex where dozens of girls are awaiting transport overseas.
The final battle erupts.
Wick tears through professional killers hired to protect the operation.
McCall methodically dismantles security systems and frees captives.
During the rescue, Hana and Soo-Min become separated.
One of the Mafia's most sadistic abusers corners Soo-Min with a pistol.
Hana sees what is happening.
She spots a live grenade dropped during the fighting.
Knowing there is no time, she grabs it.
Her sister screams.
Hana smiles through tears.
Then she charges.
The abuser fires.
Hana keeps running.
A moment later the explosion consumes them both.
Soo-Min survives.
The trafficker does not.
The victory comes at a terrible cost.
The trafficking operation is destroyed.
The surviving victims are freed.
But Hana's sacrifice leaves a scar on everyone involved.
Even Wick.
EPILOGUE
Days later, Wick and McCall meet one final time on a quiet shoreline.
Neither wears armor.
Neither carries visible weapons.
For the first time, they simply talk.
Wick admits he is tired.
The life no longer feels like something he can continue forever.
He mentions a woman he recently met.
Someone who makes him think there could be another path.
Another future.
McCall understands immediately.
He tells Wick that everyone deserves the chance to become something better than what they were.
"Just make sure you leave before the life decides it won't let you."
Wick nods thoughtfully.
Then he asks what McCall plans to do next.
McCall smiles slightly.
"Thinking about Europe."
"Anywhere specific?"
"Italy."
Wick chuckles.
"Nice place."
The two men shake hands.
Mutual respect.
Mutual understanding.
Then they walk away in opposite directions.
As the camera follows Wick, a wedding ring can be seen tucked inside his pocket.
As the camera follows McCall, he studies a travel brochure featuring the Amalfi Coast.
Two futures begin.
One will lead to Helen and the events of John Wick.
The other will eventually lead Robert McCall to Southern Italy and the events of The Equalizer 3.
Fade out.
