We are excited to welcome Coach Brandon Hargers to Mexia ISD as our new Defensive Coordinator and Head Boys Track Coach!

Coach Hargers is a graduate of Waxahachie High School and a National Champion and 2× National Runner-Up at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He was also part of three State Championship teams at Carthage High School.

Coach Hargers most recently served as Defensive Coordinator at Cuero High School and Palestine High School, while also leading both programs as Head Track Coach.

His track athletes have made 13 State Track Meet appearances, producing 4 State Champions, 4 Silver Medalists, and 3 Bronze Medalists. During that time, his athletes also broke 8 school records, including the 4x100 Relay, 4x200 Relay, 4x400 Relay, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, and the 200m.

Mexia ISD is excited to announce that Demond Horsley has been named the next Athletic Director and Head Football Coach!

Coach Horsley is a native of Atlanta, Texas, and comes to Mexia from Carthage High School, where he was part of six state championship teams. Previously, Coach Horsley served as Offensive Coordinator at Daingerfield and as Special Teams Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Director at Atlanta.
