Medal of Honor Monday 🇺🇸
Audie Murphy was only 19 years old when he landed in Europe during World War II, but he would go on to become the most decorated American combat soldier of the war.
On January 26, 1945, near Holtzwihr, France, Murphy ordered his men to fall back to safety while he remained behind alone to face an advancing German force. Climbing onto a burning tank destroyer, he used its machine gun to hold off the enemy attack for nearly an hour despite being wounded and vastly outnumbered.
His fearless actions saved countless lives and helped turn the tide of the battle. For his extraordinary heroism, he received the Medal of Honor along with numerous other awards for valor.
Courage. Honor. Country.
A true American hero whose legacy continues to inspire generations. 🇺🇸🏅
SOO proud of the brave men and women of this FBI along with all of our partners.
In less than 24 hours, our Hostage Rescue Team – the FBI’s elite tier 1 tactical unit – mobilized not once but twice, even flying across the country to California in the middle of the night, saving dozens of lives in the process from two individuals with live explosives.
In both Bakersfield, California, and Germantown, Ohio, they executed with precision, professionalism, and total commitment to the no fail mission that makes this FBI one of one. https://t.co/s53FXVWnxi
Many people got the shot not because they thought it was necessary but because it was forced on them. Many were threatened with their jobs. Others just wanted not to be excluded from society. Some just grew sick of the shaming. At some point in the future, this episode in our history will be regarded as a grave crime, especially given all the injury and death.
David Bowie’s “Golden Years” in A KNIGHT’S TALE (2001) is the moment the movie fully commits to its own insanity. A medieval dance set to Bowie should be ridiculous. Instead, it’s one of the film’s most charming scenes.
