This is so sad to me. I want her to see her worth, her talent and be confident. But it’s also something I super struggle with. But at some point we have to stop trying to fit into the ever changing, ever moving sliding scale the world sets and decide for ourselves.

This such an important conversation for writers/authors. I don’t know an author on this planet who doesn’t struggle with imposter syndrome—this is a good example of why. Yes, a lot of our insecurity comes from within. But I huge part of it is bc of this ambiguous standard…

On top of that even if you write a book making money as an author is HARD. Making a livable wage is even harder. If you make a ton of money, you likely will not continue to make a ton of money. Another job isn’t just wise, it’s sometimes necessary—no matter how talented you are.
